This collection of spoons is made from materials I gather on my daily walks, metal that I have forged or fabricated, and a combination of both. These materials are remnants of my natural and artificial world, little fragments of every day life that are discarded or neglected, similar to the spoon. By combining found materials with the spoon form I seek to bring awareness and new meaning to these often overlooked forms and materials. This body of work is meant to question what a spoon can be and to stop and take a moment to consider the spoon for the simple, sweet beauty that it is.
These spoons are extremely delicate and handmade, so it is recommended to take caution when handling them. The decorative spoons are perfect to hang on walls, put in frames, or as any decoration. They can be hung on the wall with nails or sticky putty. Please contact the artist if you have any questions or concerns about display.
**Some Spoons are now on exhibition at the R2 Gallery in Carbondale, Colorado. Check out the information about the exhibition here: http://www.carbondalearts.com/r2-gallery/alloy/
